Skyler Hagner, recipient of the festival’s Donn Trenner 2020 Artists’ Award in Music, recently performed his composition Invisible Cities, commissioned by the festival, in Philadelphia.
Skyler premiered the work, a suite for jazz nonet, at the 2021 festival and has recorded it for release this summer. His gig at Chris’ Jazz Café on April 13 featured the first performance of Invisible Cities outside the festival. The show was live and live-streamed.
