Calling all musicians, dancers, actors and other performing artists! The Guilford Performing Arts Festival has begun accepting applications for performers and workshop facilitators for the 2019 festival, in some 20 venues in and around downtown Guilford from September 26 to 29, 2019.

Between 50 and 75 slots will be available for performances and participatory events in music, dance and various forms of drama, including poetry and storytelling, stand-up comedy and literature readings.

Venues include churches, the community center, the library, schools, dance studios, markets and restaurants, historic homes and barns, and a “big-top” tent on the green. Space will be provided for buskers throughout town.

All performing and teaching slots will be between 45 and 60 minutes in length and will be filled by online application only. Visit our Perform page to learn about the festival and application process, and to access our online application. Because space is limited, applications should be submitted before May 31, 2019. Send questions to Peter Hawes, the festival’s vice chairman and head of programming.

This will be the Guilford Performing Arts Festival’s second season. The first, in 2017, attracted 3,600 people to 44 concerts, plays, recitals and workshops in 17 venues. The 2019 event will be larger and more diverse, featuring national-name, regional and local artists and a strong community-building mission.
