With the pandemic still wreaking havoc on live performance, 2018 festival Artists’ Award recipient Noah Baerman is spending much of his time teaching at Wesleyan and putting muscle behind an initiative to support artists financially burdened by the pandemic. The initiative is called Musician-Aid Requests, and you can read about it here.

Noah’s composition Cliff Palace, commissioned by the festival’s grant, appeared on his 2020 album Love Right. Given the current challenges of organizing an appropriate sextet, Noah says he has no current plans to perform Cliff Palace. He premiered it at the festival in September 2019 and recorded it for the album the following day.

Noah was a judge of applications for our 2020 Artists’ Award in Music. He’s agreed to return as a judge for our 2022 awards. Applications will open this spring.
