Frederick-Douglass Knowles

We’ve just announced a second wave of 24 performers, bringing to more than 60 the number of artists committed to the 2019 festival. More performers, including several national “marquee” names and artists who will teach in the public schools, will be announced in the coming weeks. The festival will take place from September 26 to 29 in 13 Guilford venues, most of them downtown. In the second wave of performers are:

Music: Butter Jones, Conn Artists, Dingonek Street Band, Green Light (formerly One and Done), New Haven Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet, Proud Duo, ShoreGrass Bluegrass Band, Shoreline Jazz Quartet, Submarine, Les Tordus, West Haven Consort and the Yale Percussion Ensemble.

The Dingonek Street Band

Drama/spoken word: Authors Amy Bloom (“White Houses”) and Rob Rosenthal (“Playing for Change: Music and Musicians in Service of Social Movements”); City of Hartford Poet Laureate Frederick-Douglass Knowles, storytellers Lou del Bianco and Jonathan Kruk; the Wheel Life Theatre Troupe, No Boundaries Youth Theater, and actors-dramatists Schuyler Beeman and Julie Fitzpatrick.

Dance/movement/other: Air Temple Arts Circus, Eastern Connecticut Ballet and Starship Dance.

Clear your calendar and make your way to downtown Guilford this September! There will be something for everyone!
