Members of the Guilford Poets Guild will do readings of their latest works, many of which are to be collected in the guild’s forthcoming anthology, Our Changing Environment.
The Guilford Poets Guild is a group of 15 award-winning, published poets from the Shoreline who meet regularly to share poems and promote the love and engagement of poetry within the community. The mission of this nationally recognized group is to enhance awareness of poetry by providing a forum for it to be heard, read, written and enjoyed. The guild sponsors eight readings a year at the Guilford Free Library, stages a Holiday Roundtable, conducts an annual poetry contest for Guilford High School students, and coordinates poetry and art events with the Guilford Art Center, Madison Art Society and Florence Griswold Museum. The guild is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and plans to publish its third anthology, Our Changing Environment, in the fall.
