Three dance companies—Eastern Connecticut Ballet, Shoreline Ballet and Starship Dance—combine to present a showcase of each company’s latest repertoire.
Eastern Connecticut Ballet (ECB) has been one of Connecticut’s premier dance schools since 1992. Offering a curriculum that includes ballet, pointe, modern, character and jazz for students of all ages, ECB provides high-caliber training that challenges students to reach their full potential. Executive Director Lise Reardon and Artistic Director Gloria Govrin offer professional, New York City-level instruction to aspiring dancers and bring joy to thousands every year with live performances.
Shoreline Ballet provides students with the highest quality dance education and an environment where every student is valued and respected. It offers training in classical ballet, modern and contemporary dance, musical theatre and tap, and adult barre fitness. Director Kathryn Contessa danced professionally with the Cincinnati Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Amaranth Contemporary Dance Company, Peter Sparling Dance Company and Jacobs Campbell Dance.

Starship Dance Studio offers superior technical dance training in an atmosphere that fosters creativity, motivation and a positive self-image. Its dance company comprises students as well as professionals and performs original children’s ballets in schools and other venues throughout the Shoreline. Artistic Director Joyce DiLauro studied at The American Ballet Theatre School, The American Ballet Center and Luigi’s Broadway Jazz Center. She has also studied modern dance, African dance and belly dancing, and is a certified Yoga teacher.
