Artist Bio

Dennis Culliton is a social studies teacher at Guilford’s Adams Middle School and the co-founder of the Witness Stones Project, which installs markers in front of places where enslaved people lived, worked or prayed. The purpose of the project, which was started under the Guilford Preservation Alliance and engages local schools and historical societies in research and documentation, is to honor the humanity and contributions of the enslaved in the building of their communities.
