From Ellington to madrigals to Sting, the Doobies and doo-wop, plus a dose of comedy and satire, this men’s a cappella singing group does it all—defying audiences’ preconceived ideas of what an a cappella show should be.

Artist Bio

The Conn Artists is a highly acclaimed, seven-member a cappella singing group based in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It’s a genre-defying ensemble that, in spite of the fact that none of its members are professional musicians, placed second in the New York regionals of the national a cappella competition Harmony Sweepstakes. The members are Martin Brayboy, bass; Gary Schanzer, really low bass; John Carlson and Doug Rollins, baritones; and Charlie Dear, Peter Sachner and Dave Callahan, tenors. Each of them sang with one of the top collegiate a cappella groups, including the Princeton Tigertones, Amherst Zumbyes, Williams Ephlats, Trinity BMOC and New Hampshire Gentlemen.
