Fresh from the premiere of their work Prudence Crandall and Sarah Harris: Whole-Souled Women at the Guilford Performing Arts Festival, Dimensional Dance was invited to perform a section of the piece for the 20th anniversary of the 5×5 Dance Festival in West Hartford.
Artistic Director Ruth Lewis says the company is continuing to refine the piece, has added a new duet and will perform the dance in full on April 10 at the Autorino Center for the Arts at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford. The curator of the Prudence Crandall Museum, Joan DiMartino, will join Lewis and the dancers for a pre-show discussion. Tickets are available here.
Dimensional Dance was a recipient of a 2020 festival Artists’ Award in Dance.
